Subject is continued presence of Eugene Ott in Orient. Urad Z 13154 dtd 15 Aug states International Prosecution Sect does not desire Ott’s continued presence in Orient. A letter dtd 29 Aug 1946 addressed to Chief of Staff, Chinese War Theater, Shanghai, China signed by Frank S Tavenner, Junior, Special Assistant to the Chief of Council, was presented here by Ott. This letter states that there is possibility that he may be called as a witness in the International Prosecution Sect and that if such action is taken it will be within the next 4 months. If it is desired that Ott remain in Peiping for that period, arrangements now made with local Chinese authorities for his repatriation must be changed in order to permit his continued residence here. Do you wish this change in repatriation arrangements to be made?
