MEMORANDUM
13 June 1946
FROM: EUGENE D. WILLIAMS
TO: LEGAL STAFF
SUBJECT: EXTRACTS OF “TOKYO GAZETTE”: MISCELLANY.
1. Document Division has recently come into possession of Japanese language monthly copies of “TOKYO GAZETTE”, from 1937 to March 1942, (see our Dec. #1503, 1504, 1505).
2. It is suggested that all legal staff re-scan these documents with the view of using such articles in their briefs, and with a view to possibly withdrawing requests for other documents on the same points which have not been translated. It may be determined such articles are better evidence than some former requests.
3. It is worthy of your consideration that the “Aggression Count” have a bundle of evidence in the back of each of these documents, where the war progress of both the Army and the Navy are listed.
4. It is further requested that such sections as have been assigned a block of numbers report such numbers daily to Mrs. Brastrup, Ext. 108.
[Signed Eugene D. Williams]
