3.In bare outline, the work flow with respect to Defense documents will be substantially as follows:
a.Defense Translation (Mr. Sheldon) will determine which documents are to be translated by IPS Language Division and will deal directly with IPS Language Division concerning them.
b.After translations have been completed by IPS Language Division, the documents and translations will be returned to Defense Translation. The translations will be checked by Defense Translation who will then assume full responsibility for them.
c.Documents then proceed from Defense Translation to Defense Documents (Mrs. Magliano), where it will be determined which documents are appropriate for processing by IPS Document Division.
d.Defense documents designated for processing in IPS Document Division will be received at Central Checking. There they will be routed for the appropriate type of reproduction, i. e., ditto, stencil, Photostat, etc., in accordance with procedures that obtain with respect to our own documents. (It will be noted that Document Division will have no function to perform on Defense documents until this point in processing is reached.)
e.From Central Checking on Defense documents will be integrated into the regular work flow and will proceed through stenciling, dittoing, etc., and through mimeographing. The present control reporting system will be applied to Defense documents, and either our Master Control Desk or the Defense liaison representative in this division will maintain the records.
