Reuritem 9, last telecom, Paul A. Baran, formerly with U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey, advises that original German cables referred to were microfilmed by him in Japan and original cables were left in the custody of Helmut Boltze, Consular for the German Embassy in Japan. A check was made with the State Department and Washington document center who advised that they have not received the original German cables. The microfilm of these documents contained in the files of the U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey in Washington is available and prints will be made of this microfilm with proper certifications and forwarded to you this week. An affidavit will also be prepared in connection with the chain of custody and sworn to by Mr. Boltze. Please advise if this is not satisfactory.
