economic collaboration with Germany and Italy in the East Asian and European fields so as to contri¬bute to the attainment of Japan1s aspirations. It was intended that Japan would make use of the emi¬grant and economic foothold which Germany and Italy had attained in South America in regard to such steps as Japan should in the future take with res-pect to the United States. 199
D.It was decided that Japan in the construction of an East Asian New Order should take such steps as the situation may require in order to eliminate the political and economic interests of Britain in East Asia, including the South Seas. Japan, it was contemplated, would cooperate with Germany and Italy in the war against Britain in respect to the elimination of British interests in East Asia, the making of anti-British demonstrations and propa¬ganda, and the support of independence movements in the colonies and dependencies of Britain, and
other matters. 200
E.Concerning the possible use of armed force against Britain and the United States, Japan, it was deter¬mined, would make decisions independently in accord¬ance with the following principles:
