Report on Sub-divisions 5 and 6 in the China Phase

Laverge gives a continued report of his memorandum from 1 May 1947 (Item 69, Box 5, Folder 4) on the Sub-divisions 5 and 6 in the China Phase. It "deals mainly with the changing policies of the Japanese Government toward the China Incident between 1 January 1938 and 30 March 1940, when the new Central Government in China, under WANG Ching-wei was established. These policies of the Japanese Government were arrived at in Imperial Conferences, Cabinet Conferences and five Ministers' Meetings. They deal with the political, economic and military measures to be taken in connection with the war in China." Laverge includes descriptions and references to evidence introduced by the Prosecution, various reports, materials, and supporting facts of events in his reports. Includes a Time Table of events with corresponding dates of important events during the time period covered.
