German Legations List at The Greenbrier

Description: 
Lists German diplomats and their families held at The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. during World War II. The U. S. State Department and FBI held these foreign nationals while negotiations proceeded with the Axis powers for their exchange. The facility also later served as a war hospital. This document lists their date of arrival at the facility, assigned room, name, place detained, nationality, and age. Also has handwritten edits.

Notification Regarding Greeting Cards

Description: 
Memorandum regarding a letter from H. G. Winkler that accompanied a number of greeting cards addressed to members of the German Legation at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Advises that an investigation be made into the source of the greeting cards, the background of H. G. Winkler, and the symbol that was found on each of the cards.
