China Puppet President Faces War Crime Court
SOOCHOW (AP) – China’s biggest war crimes trial with the nation’s leading traitor suspect as defendant has opened before three judges of the Kiangsu high court.
The defendant, Cheng Kung-po was puppet president of the Nanking government under the Japanese. He faces 1- separate charges, each carrying death of life imprisonment. Chen, who was educated in the United States, was captured in Tokyo where he had fled in a Japanese plane after the surrender.
Filipino Woman Gets Life as Collaborator
MANILA (AP) – The first Filipino woman convicted of collaboration with the Japanese has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the People’s Court. She is Pilar Barrera de Reyes, charged with pointing out guerillas to the Japanese.
