Nisei Lawyer, 43, Coming to Tokyo for War Trials
New York (UP) – George Yamaoka, 43, a Nisei lawyer, has left for Tokyo under War Department commission to serve as defense and liaison counsel on the International War Crimes Tribunal.
“When my father, Ototaka Yamaoka, a member of the Japanese parliament and a man of liberal ideas discovered that this ideas were too liberal to be in accord with the political doctrines of those in power in Japan, he moved to the United States in the early 1890’s and lived in the United States until his death in 1924,” Yamaoka.
