27 Criminal Suspects Enter Sugamo Prison Twenty-seven more suspected war criminals, including the former commanding officer of all POW camps in Korea, a captain of two POW ships, and a former chief of the Kempei Tai, whose apprehension had been ordered by SCAP’s Legal Section, were admitted to Sugamo prison between May 17 and 23.
