Ex-Warrant Officer Hanged
The hanging of Warrant Officer Shunio Tomono, formerly of the Japanese army, and member of the Kempei Tai, for the beheading of two American flyers in July, 1945, was announced August 6 in a report from the Southeast Asia Command, Singapore. The two Americans were taken prisoner June 12, 1945, when a U. S. army B-24 bomber crashed near Cholon, French Indo-China. They were the only known survivors.
