SCAP Orders 16 Japs Released from Sugamo Sixteen Japanese were ordered released from confinement at Sugamo Prison and cleared of suspicion of war crimes by the SCAP Legal Section yesterday. The group, some of whom had been ordered apprehended as far back as November 6, 1945, includes three former officers, five enlisted men, and eight civilians.
