Tojo’s Trial Delayed
By the United Press
Gen. Douglas MacArthur has been instructed not to proceed immediately with the trial of former Japanese Premier Hideki Tojo and other high Japanese war criminals, it was learned late tonight at the War Department.
MacArthur had requested authorization to proceed at once with Tojo’s trial, but the authority was withheld because of the international ramifications of the case against him and his onetime associates, the department said in response to a press inquiry.
