FEC-24 From IPS Please advise CAF rating of Miss Selmar, as we desire to include her in Historical Division. FEC-25 From IPS Have you answered Col. Walbridge’s cable regarding proposed payment of defense witnesses and what were views fo State Department. FEC-31 From IPS Robinson and Cole to Collins: (1)Refer book by Zacharias entitled “Secret Missions” pages 113 and 114, request you obtain from ONI copy of Minobi book cited with English translation if available. Probably necessary contact Zacharias for further information regarding author, title, and procurement of Minobi book. (2)Request Japanese navy regulations four (4) volumes with English translation by U. S. Navy reported available in Washington showing Navy chain of command on POW matters and other regulations. (3)Have not yet received German documents requested from Nuremberg showing conversations between Oshima and Hitler, and others. Suggest you investigate whether such German documents when received include Marburg-Mackensen materials referred to in Hornaday papers with forwarding letter from Blue to Langer, dated 10 September 1945. We have copy forwarded by War Crimes Office to Mr. Keenan under date 31 January 1946, and carbon copy delivered to Robinson recently. Will return one copy if needed by you for reference. Request German original ro certified copy suitable for introduction in evidence.
