Born in 1899; died in 1980. Director of General Affairs, Central Liaison Office, Imperial Japanese Government. Japanese embassy counselor in Washington, D. C. at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Former spokesman for the Japanese Board of Information (during World War II). Made Director of the 3rd Division in the Board of Information in 1943. From 1954-1956, he was the Japanese ambassador to the United States. Other political appointments included deputy foreign minister and ambassador to Canada and Taiwan.
