Sentence Eight to Die
SINGAPORE, April 15 (AP) – Lt. Col. Sumida Haruzo, chief of the Japanese military police here during the occupation, and seven of his staff including a Chinese were sentenced to death today at the conclusion of a war crimes trial. Three others were sentenced to life, one for 15 years, and two for eight years. Six were acquitted.
