China Blames Japan for 20 Million Deaths
SHANGHAI, May 15 (AP) – A Chinese war crimes investigation committee blamed Japan for the deaths of an estimated 20,000,000 Chinese during eight years of war.
The committee, making a survey for the war ministry and the Executive Yuan, said the deaths occurred as a result of actual warfare and atrocities.
It also reported that 200,000,000 others, nearly half of China’s entire population “suffered directly through Japanese actions.”
