Tojo Reported Preparing Own Trial Defense
Hideki Tojo is preparing his own defense arguments in his trial as a war criminal, Ichiro Kiyose, head of the Japanese defense counsel told Kyodo news service. The former premier and general is making extensive notes and keeps all his own reference materials in order, Kiyose said.
Tojo was reported by Kiyose as studying “every word” in the indictment and the opening statement by chief prosecutor Keenan and was said to be “busily engaged in writing his own defense arguments.”
