Rape of Nanking Eyewitnesses Now Enroute to Tokyo
Nanking, June 9 (AP) – Eyewitnesses to the Japanese rape of Nanking emplaned for Tokyo yesterday, to testify at the international war crimes trial.
The group included Americans M. S. Bates, professor at Nanking University and George Fitch, former chairman of the Nanking YMCA and several Chineses. Representatives of the prosecution staff came here from Tokyo seeking witnesses as well as photographs and statistical information on mass slayings during the Japanese occupation.
