Former Jap Officers Face War Crime Charge
Three former Japanese naval officers, Toyoaki Inagaki, Minoru Toyama and Yoshiyuki Makamura, were charged yesterday with complicity with a former Japanese vice-admiral in the execution of four unidentified American airmen.
The Americans, sole survivors of a B-24 shot down over the Celebes Islands in June, 1945, were transported by Japanese secret police to Makassar where they were executed by swords, without trial.
