Day 22 of the trial, Friday, June 28, 1946, concerning Phase II - The Preparation of Japanese Opinion for War of the prosecution's case. Also contains the beginning of Phase III - Japanese Military Aggression in Manchuria. John Darsey presented the beginning of this phase (starts on page 1,678). Alfred Brooks requests further medical examinations into the mental state of Shumei Okawa and Floyd Mattice becomes defense counsel for Itagaki (adding to his representation of Matsui). Questioning focuses on the Manchurian incident and Japanese military operations in China. Roughly covers pages 1,534 to 1,720 of the official trial transcript. The Tribunal convened at 9:30 AM and adjourned at 4:00 PM.
