To: Attorneys hereinafter named
From: Chief of Counsel
Subject: Preparation of cases against individual defendants
The following attorneys are definitely assigned to handle the cases against the individual defendants set opposite their names.
It is expected that each attorney will:
1.Prepare a brief showing in detail the personal action of the defendant assigned to him in connection with any phase of the case, including:
(a)Offices held – with dates
(1)Particular actions in such office
(b) Commands or other military or naval position held – with dates
(1) Particular actions in such commands
(2) Activities of such commands while under orders of defendant
(c) Meetings attended by defendant with action taken and if possible, vote or other activity of defendant in connection therewith
(d) Public utterances of defendant
(e) Private utterances of defendant
(f) Admissions by defendant (in interrogations)
(g) Any other admission of defendant (written or oral)
(h) Medals, awards or commendations given defendant with citations showing reason for such award, etc.
(i) Any other facts which you consider relevant and material showing intent, act or acquiescence of defendant in matters involved in the case
