MEMORANDUM TO: Mr. Tavenner
FROM: T. C. Liu
SUBJECT: Document on Shintoism in Manchuria
On 15 July 1940, Henry Pu Yi, as the Emperor of Manchukuo, issued an Imperial Rescript, thereby formally adopted Shintoism. The said document, found in the Manchukuo Government Gazette, 1940, is now numbered IPS Doc# 2637, with due certificates of authentication.
The Japanese version is attached to the Chinese document in the original itself. The English translation and translation certificate by the Chinese Division has been filed.
In other words, this document is ready for processing, if requested.
