Greenbrier Hotel Mission

Notification of enclosure containing a list of the German Nationals currently held at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Morgan notes that there are only 183 detainees remaining. The enclosures are not included.

Morgan informs the Bureau of the visit of Colonel Edmund W. Starling of the Secret Service to the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the apprehension of firearms from detainees at the Hotel, the departure of Mrs. Robert Minner and children to their home in New York, and the confidential payment of the Confidential Informant SAC.

Recounts interview Roy Morgan had with Kurt Sell relative to Lawrence Dennis's activities, including the fact that it was common knowledge among the diplomatic corp that Dennis was receiving money from Herieert Von Strempel.

Memorandum and documents that explain the incident with a waiter, Alfred Rudolph Nerz, at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, who obtained the American Mercury and Readers Digest magazines for German internee Carl Anton Lendle despite this action being against regulations. Included is a one page memorandum with J. Edgar Hoover's signature, informing Morgan that the matter should be handled immediately and the Bureau should be fully informed of any developments.
